After a 20-year hiatus, the revival of the school of Egyptian civilization

Ahmed Youssef, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Awareness and Internal Tourism and Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry, held an extensive meeting with a number of leaders and workers in the various sectors, institutions and bodies in the Ministry, to discuss the procedures for reviving the School of Egyptian Civilization, which is an extension of the School of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, which stopped about two decades ago. .

It comes within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' keenness to raise tourism and archaeological awareness among the various sects of the Egyptian people and to familiarize them with the history and civilization of their country.

Ahmed Youssef explained that the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat was chosen to be the headquarters of the school, which targets Egyptian university graduates and foreigners residing in Egypt, who have a passion for knowledge about the ancient Egyptian civilization in its various historical eras.

During the meeting, all visions and basic elements were discussed, to ensure the start of reviving the school again, in terms of the scientific content that will be presented to the participants, the field visits they will make, and the necessary equipment for the lecture halls, in an attempt to start the school's activity during the current year.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Hassan Selim, Professor of Egyptian Archeology at Ain Shams University, Sabah Abdel Razek, Director General of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Dr. Hani Al-Tayeb, supervisor of the Scientific Office of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Professor Suzan Mustafa, Director General of the Tourism Promotion Department at the General Authority for Tourism Activation, Dr. Rasha Kamal, Director General of the Department of Cultural Development and Community Communication at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and Maha Jalal, Director General of the General Department of Tourism Awareness.
