In its first session, Egyptian translator Rehab Wahdan won the Mexican Literature Translation Award

The Mexican Novel Awards, in its first session, announced that Dr. Rehab Wahdan won the Mexican Novel Translation Award, and the translators who made it to the short list received certificates of appreciation and a set of books dedicated to him by the National Center for Translation, the Mexican Embassy in Cairo, and the writer Juan Beauro, who are: Basem Muhammad Mustafa , and Dr. Ali Muhammad Abdul Latif and Muhammad Massad Saeed Mahdi.

This afternoon, the award ceremony of the Mexican Novel Competition, in its first session, was held in the presence of Dr. Karma Sami, Director of the National Center for Translation, Ambassador Octavio Tripp and Mexican novelist Juan Beauro.


At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Maryam Makki, Professor of Spanish at the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, gave a welcoming speech in which she expressed her happiness for extending the horizons of communication and cooperation in the Egyptian-Mexico relations and the transfer of distinguished cultures between the two countries.

Then Dr. Karma Sami, Director of the National Center for Translation, gave her speech and highlighted the wonderful storytelling in the novel by the Mexican writer Juan Peoro, which belongs to the world heritage of storytelling and opened up horizons for human imagination, and increased our love in the mosaic of our common human creativity, and thanked the friends at the Mexican Embassy for their cooperation With the Center to start translating the Mexican culture project, Dr. Abeer Abdel Salam, Professor of Spanish Literature at the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University, presented the jury’s speech and expressed her appreciation for the importance of this award, which is granted for the first time, and read the overall evaluation of the first round of the competition.
