Worth 100,000 euros.. An Egyptian writer on the long list of the Dublin Literary Prize

The long list of the Dublin Prize was announced, after 79 novels from 40 countries were nominated, along with 30 translated novels, some of them were selected for the long list of the literary prize.



Among the books that were placed on the long list, the novel “Shaghaf” by Rasha Adly, and Rasha Adly wrote the novel in two time frames “1798 and 2012” and provided a wonderful historical account of Napoleon’s time in Egypt, providing a comprehensive account of what happened in the French campaign through diaries Artist and writer Alton German, meanwhile, research conducted in the modern era of the novel reveals that the artist was in love with a beautiful Egyptian girl, whose image he immortalized in a mysterious painting now in a museum.

The prize is one of the richest literary prizes in the world. The Dublin Literary Prize of €100,000 is awarded to the author of the winning book, and if the winning book is translated into English, €75,000 will be awarded to the author and €25,000 to the translator.



Rasha Adly is an Egyptian writer, born in Cairo in 1972. She is an independent researcher and lecturer in art history. She is the author of eight novels since she began her journey in the world of writing. Through her novels, she has been able to reach more than once the lists of the Arab Booker Prize and has won many awards.
