The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has begun the sterilization work of the pyramid's antiquities area to protect against the emerging corona virus (covid-19).

This morning, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities began the work of sterilization and disinfection of the pyramid's monuments, to protect and prevent the repercussions of the emerging corona virus (covid-19).

Professor Ashraf Mohy-el-din, Director General of the Haram Archeology Region, said that the sterilization and disinfection work was carried out in accordance with international standards for disinfection procedures and by using materials approved by the Ministry of Health and Population, noting that the sterilization work included a visitor hall, X-Ray devices, box office tickets for the archaeological area, and toilets , And the entrance to the entire archaeological area, and the roads leading to it, in addition to sterilizing the wooden walkway in front of the Great Pyramid and the areas that the audience can lean on and the places for visitors to visit and other places in contact with the human being.

Mohy-el-din added, that protection and sterilization tools, including gloves, masks and disinfectants, were distributed to all workers, and sterilization of the rest of the region is underway.
