CAPMAS: 10.7% increase in value of business sector's 2018-2019 under construction ventures Sun, Feb. 14, 2021
CAIRO - 14 February 2021: The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said Sunday a total of EGP 104.1 bn worth of investments were channeled into under-construction projects during the period between 2018-2019 compared to LE 94.1 billion in 2017-2018, with an increase rate of 10.7 percent.


According to CAPMAS' bulletin on Annual Financial Statistics and Indices for the Whole Republic (Public/ Public Business Sectors) companies for the year 2018-2019 - except for banks and insurance companies - the total value of wages of business sectors' workers reached LE 57.7 billion in 2018-2019 compared to LE 50.8 bn in 2017-2018, with an increase of 13.7 percent.


Net invested capital hit LE 558.1 billion in 2018-2019, in comparison to EGP 519.7 bn in 2017-2018, with a 7.4 percent increase, the CAPMAS' bulletin said.


As for the public sector, the value of under-construction projects amounted to 54.1 percent, the CAPMAS' annual bulletin said, citing the government's economic reform programs, as well as an increase in the sectors' production capacity as key propeller.


The value of current trade activities for 2018-2019 is LE 191.7 billion, compared to LE 158.8 billion in 2017-2018, with a 20.7 percent increase, it added.
