CAIRO – 23 October 2025: The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) launched the 57th aid convoy on Thursday under the initiative “Zad Al-Ezzah – From Egypt to Gaza.

The convoy carries over 6,000 tons of essential humanitarian supplies, including 2,400 tons of food baskets and flour, 2,000 tons of medical and relief materials, and around 1,800 tons of fuel.

This effort comes as part of Egypt’s ongoing humanitarian mission to deliver food, medical, and fuel assistance to the people of Gaza through the Egyptian Red Crescent, which serves as the national mechanism for coordinating aid deliveries to the war-torn enclave.

A senior United Nations official recently warned of the long-term consequences of severe malnutrition among pregnant women and infants in Gaza, describing the situation as one that could affect generations. Andrew Saptopon, Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), said during a press briefing at the UN headquarters in New York following his visit to Gaza that the extent of destruction “looked like a scene from a dystopian film,” adding that a quarter of Gaza’s population is facing starvation.

The “Zad Al-Ezzah” convoy initiative, launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, continues to deliver thousands of tons of aid, including food supplies, flour, infant formula, medical and pharmaceutical materials, personal care items, and fuel, as part of Egypt’s sustained efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
