Egypt has launched the “Zad Al-Ezza... From Egypt to Gaza” convoy, by the Red Crescent on July 27. It carried thousands of tons of aid, including food supply chains, flour, baby formula, medical supplies, therapeutic medications, personal care items, and tons of fuel.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has been present on the border since the beginning of the crisis, serving as the national mechanism for coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza.
The Rafah crossing has never been closed on the Egyptian side, and it has maintained its readiness at all logistical centers and its ongoing efforts to deliver more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid, thanks to the efforts of 35,000 volunteers.
On Thursday, the 12th humanitarian convoy organized by the National Alliance for Civil Development Action departed for the Gaza Strip, marking another step in Egypt’s ongoing relief efforts since the beginning of the crisis.
This convoy represented a swift response to the humanitarian aid provision in the Sharm El-Sheikh Document, which aims to support civilians in Gaza following the signing of the ceasefire agreement.
The convoy included more than 200 trucks carrying essential supplies such as food, flour, tents, blankets, and hygiene items, in addition to over 36 ambulances ready for deployment.
