CAIRO - 9 October 2025: Egypt dispatched on Thursday the 47th aid convoy under the initiative “Zad al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza” launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent.
This comes after US President Donald Trump announced that first phase of peace plan for Gaza was reached on Wednesday.
The agreement reportedly includes a ceasefire and a captive-prisoner exchange deal, marking a potential end to the war that has killed more than 67,000 people, including 20,000 children, and pushed the enclave to the brink of famine.
Ziad Qassem, Al-Qahera News correspondent, reported that the Egyptian Red Crescent continues its round-the-clock efforts to deliver aid to Gaza. He noted that the latest convoy includes over 150,000 food baskets, several tons of flour and diesel, and essential medical and relief supplies. The convoy also includes five ambulances and 11 water tankers.
Despite the anticipated Gaza agreement, Qassem noted that aid deliveries still face significant delays due to Israeli inspections at the crossing, with many trucks held up for inspection by Israeli forces.
The “Zad al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza” convoy was initially launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, carrying thousands of tons of aid—including food, flour, baby formula, medical supplies, therapeutic drugs, hygiene products, and fuel.
Since the start of the crisis, the Egyptian Red Crescent has served as a key national mechanism for coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza. The Rafah crossing has remained operational on the Egyptian side, supported by a network of logistical centers and over 35,000 volunteers.
