CAIRO – 5 October 2025: Egypt dispatched on Sunday the 45th humanitarian aid convoy to the besieged Gaza Strip under the initiative “Zad Al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza”, launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent.
The convoy departed from the secondary gate of the Rafah land port and proceeded to the Kerem Abu Salem crossing, located in the southeast of the Strip, Al Qahera News reported.
Al Qahera News correspondent from Rafah Ziad Qassem stated that the convoy carried thousands of tons of urgent food and relief supplies. These included food baskets, flour, legumes, canned meals, medical supplies, personal care items, infant formula, blankets, drinking water, and more.
The correspondent noted that the entry of aid into Gaza continues to face significant obstacles imposed by the Israeli authorities. Many aid trucks are subjected to inspection by Israeli occupation forces and are often turned back to the Rafah crossing without any explanation.
The Egyptian Red Crescent previously affirmed its continued commitment to supporting the people of Gaza since the onset of the crisis. Over 35,000 volunteers have been working around the clock along the border to facilitate aid delivery.
Despite the calls for a halt of the Israeli war on the besieged enclave to help implement the US President Donald Trump’s plan, which was agreed to by Hamas, the Government Media Office in Gaza said on Saturday evening that the Israeli occupation continues the genocide. It added that Israel launched a total of 93 raids over 24 hours claiming the lives of 70 martyrs in the Gaza Strip.
