CAIRO - 10 September 2025: the 34th Humanitarian aid convoy under the initiative Zad al-Ezzah.. from Egypt to Gaza entered Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday through the side gate of the Rafah Border Crossing.
An official source at the Rafah land port stated that the convoy, now in its 34th day, includes trucks carrying baskets of legumes, flour, cheese, and other food supplies. This comes as part of Egypt's efforts to provide relief to the Palestinian people.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has been present at the border as a national mechanism for coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza since the beginning of the crisis. The Rafah land port has never been closed on the Egyptian side, and it continues its readiness at all logistical centers and its ongoing efforts to facilitate the entry of aid. More than 36,000 trucks carrying approximately half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid have arrived, thanks to the efforts of 35,000 volunteers.
The Israeli occupation forces had closed the crossings linking the Gaza Strip since March 2, following the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the failure to reach an agreement to consolidate the ceasefire. They violated the truce with a violent airstrike on March 18, and resumed ground incursions into various areas of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli occupation authorities also prevented the entry of trucks carrying humanitarian aid, fuel, and shelter supplies for displaced people who lost their homes due to the war on Gaza. They also refused to allow the entry of heavy equipment needed for rubble removal and reconstruction into the Gaza Strip.
Aid was resumed in May under a mechanism implemented by the Israeli occupation authorities and an American security company, despite the objection of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which is considered a violation to the established international mechanism on this matter.
The occupation army declared a "temporary truce" for 10 hours (Sunday, July 27, 2025) and suspended military operations in areas of the Gaza Strip to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid. While mediators (Egypt, Qatar, and the United States) are making efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and exchange prisoners and detainees.
