CAIRO- 2 September 2025: Egypt condemned the ongoing expansion of Israeli military aggression in Gaza, saying that Israel’s lack of response to the latest ceasefire deal proposed by Egypt and Qatar in august reflects the complete absence of the Israeli will to de-escalate and restore calm and peace.
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned the persistence in violating international humanitarian law, in full contradiction with the international community’s aspiration to bring an end to the war in the Gaza Strip and to the escalation it has caused in the region.
Cairo affirmed that Israel's lack of response so far to the deal reflects the complete absence of will to de-escalate and restore calm and peace. Instead, it demonstrates clear intentions to persist in its aggression against innocent civilians in Gaza. This aggression threatens to further exacerbate the dire humanitarian consequences, particularly in light of the starvation policies and blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation against defenseless civilians in the Strip.
Egypt categorically rejected this aggressive Israeli approach, which has led to a worsening of the situation in the region and placed it on a collision course that warns of further escalation and conflict, as a result of Israel’s disregard for the intensive efforts exerted to de-escalate and end the war in Gaza.
Egypt also rejected its continued expansion of settlement in the Palestinian territories and the backtracking from the peace process based on the two-state solution, which enjoys regional and international support.
