CAIRO, 10 August 2021: Egyptian authorities on Tuesday kept open the Rafah crossing with Gaza to allow stranded Palestinians and humanitarian cases on both sides to cross the border terminal.

According to official sources, Rafah will remain open today on both sides to allow entry of relief materials into the Gaza Strip for reconstruction of the impoverished Palestinian enclave after the widespread destruction it witnessed due to an Israeli onslaught in May. This comes in accordance with the directives of the political leadership.

Administrative and technical staff are on hand to facilitate the Palestinian brothers and speed up the completion of transit procedures and the entry of relief aid and reconstruction materials into the Gaza Strip. Preparations are in place to receive humanitarian cases and to enter any aid into the Gaza Strip at any time, according to the sources.

The crossing has been operating exceptionally since May 16 to receive the wounded, injured and humanitarian cases and bring in aid, in addition to the crossing of stranded people on both sides.
