Egyptian naval forces arrive in Turkey for joint "Friendship Sea 2025" drills

CAIRO - 23 September 2025: Units from the Egyptian Navy arrived in Turkey to participate in the joint Egyptian-Turkish naval exercise "Friendship Sea 2025", set to take place over several days in September.

The military exercise includes a series of lectures and naval activities designed to enhance the skills of participating personnel, improve operational efficiency, and unify combat concept, with a view to boosting their capability to carry out missions with a high degree of professionalism and effectiveness.

The drill falls within the framework of Egyptian Armed Forces joint training strategy with friendly and allied nations in various military disciplines, with the aim of strengthening military cooperation, promoting the exchange of expertise, and applying the latest combat tactics and modern warfare techniques.
According to a statement released by the Turkish defense ministry earlier, the drill will include Turkish frigates, fast attack craft, a submarine, and F-16 jets plus Egyptian naval units. High-level naval commanders from both countries are expected observe the drills around Sept 25.
