During meeting with Sisi; Norwian PM lauds Egypt's pivotal role in maintaining stability in the Middle East

CAIRO - 24 September 2019: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met on Monday with Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York.

During the meeting, Sisi expressed Egypt's keenness on boosting relations with Norway in various fields, presidential spokesman BassamRady said.

The Norwegian premier lauded Egypt's pivotal role in maintaining stability in the Middle East, expressing her country's desire to intensify and strengthen cooperation with Egypt.

The meeting tackled prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of tourism, trade exchange, energy, fisheries, logistics and oil.The two sides also discussed several issues of mutual concern at the regional level.

Sisi arrived in New York on September 21, where he gave a speech during the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, as the chairman of the African Union this year.

Sisi heldhigh-level meetings on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 47), with a number of presidents and leaders, including a tripartite meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah II and Iraqi President BarhamSalih, where they discussed the Palestinian cause.
