Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty Sat, Sep. 20, 2025
CAIRO – 20 September 2025: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty headed to Saudi Arabia in an official visit to activate and advance existing frameworks under the Supreme Coordination Council across commercial, economic, political, developmental, and investment sectors.

The visit follows an agreement reached between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during their recent meeting in NEOM. Abdelatty noted in comments to Al Qahera News that the agreement is intended to deepen communication and consultation between the two brotherly nations.

"This visit comes as part of ongoing consultations on the crises and extremely dangerous developments plaguing the region, as well as the broader regional and security challenges that continue to threaten stability," Abdelatty stated.

He added, "It was a crucial opportunity to engage in a comprehensive dialogue with Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, to coordinate our shared vision regarding regional developments. The situation remains dire in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and we also addressed broader regional security concerns."

Abdelatty emphasized that discussions extended to other key regional issues, including Sudan, where both Egypt and Saudi Arabia are members of the Quartet Committee alongside the United Arab Emirates and the United States, as well as developments in Libya, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.

In addition to political discussions, Abdelatty held talks with the Saudi Ministers of Industry and Trade on strengthening bilateral relations. "We had a productive dialogue on enhancing cooperation and fully activating the Supreme Coordination Council, co-chaired by President El-Sisi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. This includes reviving all associated frameworks across commercial, economic, political, developmental, and investment domains," he concluded.
