CAIRO - 28 May 2025: Egypt and Spain affirmed on Tuesday their rejection of the continued Israeli aggression on Gaza, while working to mobilize support for a plan to rebuild the Strip without displacing its population.
During a phone call between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, both sides stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
Moreover, the two leaders stressed the need to work towards the implementation of the two-state solution by expanding recognition of the Palestinian state, while mobilizing support for the implementation of the Arab-Islamic plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip without displacing its population.
According to the Egyptian presidential spokesman, Mohamed El-Shennawy, the call touched upon the situations in Syria, Lebanon, and Libya, with bith sides emphasizing the need to preserve the unity of these countries, their territorial integrity, and the security of their populations.
They also affirmed the continuation of consultation and coordination between Egypt and Spain on various regional issues, in light of the important role both countries play in restoring regional stability.
