CAIRO - 16 April 2025: Head of Egypt’s State Information Service (SIS) Diaa Rashwan stressed that Egypt and Qatar are exerting immense efforts to advance the Palestinian cause in a televised interview with Al-Qahera News TV Channel on Monday.

Moreover, Rashwan stressed that the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip will witness a positive shift due to the significant efforts made by Cairo and Doha.

He added that US President Donald Trump is aware that difficult negotiations are underway regarding Gaza and that the Israelis are raising the ceiling of their demands.

He explained that Trump most likely wants to visit the region after the war in Gaza ends, noting that since the renewed aggression on Gaza, Trump has given Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ample opportunity to release the detainees, and that this deadline is now coming to an end.

Furthermore, the head of SIS stressed that, "Hamas knows the value of time now, and I believe its response to the Israeli proposal will be swift."

Earlier this week, Sources revealed to Al-Qahera News that Egypt and Qatar had received an Israeli proposal for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza which is supposed to pave the way for negotiations leading to a permanent ceasefire.

The sources explained that Egypt and Qatar had delivered the Israeli proposal to Hamas and were awaiting its response as soon as possible.
