CAIRO - 26 March 2025: The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) released a press release on Tuesday affirming its commitment to maintaining effective contacts with customers and building on the strategic relationship it has with major shipping companies.

The press release indicated that these efforts are clearly demonstrated by holding direct and periodic meetings with several active and influential figures in the international shipping community, most notably the secretary-general of the International Maritime Organization, the chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping, the CEOs of major shipping lines, and representatives of shipping agencies.

The meetings were held to consult on the geopolitical and security challenges facing the region and discuss their implications for the sustainability of global supply chains.

These efforts over the past period have resulted in achieving numerous successes and enhancing joint cooperation with partners and clients in more than one area, including increasing the investment portfolio of several shipping lines in Egypt, most notably the Maersk Group, which has been working to increase the volume of its investments in East Port Said Port and pumping new investments into the ship scrapping project in Damietta Port, reflecting the pivotal role of the SCA in supporting the group’s activities in Egypt, it added.
