Egyptian Armed Forces head to Black Sea for ‘Friendship Bridge-3’ exercise

CAIRO – 17 November 2020: Egyptian Ministry of Defense released a statement on Monday announcing that a number of naval vessels of the Egyptian Armed Forces has left the Alexandria Naval Base and headed to the Black Sea where a joint Egyptian-Russian naval training (Friendship Bridge-3) would take place.

The statement stated that the military exercise is the first naval maneuver that takes place in the Black Sea between both countries to enhance military cooperation and support efforts of bringing security and stability in the region.

On their way, the Egyptian naval vessels sailed through the Mediterranean Sea and also crossed the Dardanelles and the Bosphorus straits.

The joint maritime training "Friendship Bridge-3" aims at transferring and exchanging experiences between the armed forces of both countries, the statement said.
