CAIRO - 9 June 2020: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the government to continue working on promoting national heavy industries which are vital for boosting nationa economy.

Sisi made his directives during a meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea.

Presidential Adviser on Financial Affairs Mohamed Amin Nasr attended the meeting.

The president instructed officials to keep working for entrenching local industry, especially in the field of heavy industries.

Meanwhile Gamea briefed the president on the key challenges facing these sectors, especially those related to production capacity, structure of production costs, marketing and exportation, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The minister reviewed a range of solutions to overcome these challenges by adopting a fully integrated manufacturing policy aimed at boosting local components of production, obtaining an adequate profit margin and improving market access for Egyptians exports at the regional and well as international levels.

She also touched upon the latest progress in the activities of the Egyptian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) to develop industrial complexes nationwide, the spokesman added.
