uring 2019, the Ministry of Antiquities worked hard on a number of important projects, which we review in the following report:
1 - The Grand Egyptian Museum
The current situation More than 90% of the total work volume has been completed (the completion rate was 17% at the beginning of 2016). The total artifacts transported to the museum from all the archaeological sites and museums amounted to 49,603 pieces. The total amount that was restored and maintained was 46,600 artifacts.
2- The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization
The implementation rate of the third stage: 98% and falls within the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Antiquities and the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, which are the exhibition halls of the central show, royal mummies, in preparation for its partial opening in early 2020.
3- Development of the pyramids region: the implementation rate is 99% (a cooperation protocol was signed with Orascom Investment Holding to provide and operate visitor services in the region on December 13, 2018).
4- The 95% completion of the restoration project of the Jewish temple (Eliyahu Hanbi) in Alexandria
5- The 95% completion of the restoration of the Baron Empain Palace in Heliopolis district
6- The continuation of the project of developing the Greco-Roman Museum in Alexandria
7- Completion of 99% of the project to revive the Ramallah road track in Luxor and prepare it for a visit
8- 99% of the Hurghada Museum (the first museum in partnership with the private sector) has been completed.
