Antiquities finish 90% of the restoration and rehabilitation of the ancient city of Shali Siwa

Dr. Abdel Hamid Kafafi, Director General of Planning and Follow-up at the Ministry of Antiquities, said that the restoration of 90% of the plan to revive the ancient city of Shali in the oasis of Siwa has been completed from the village buildings and its old streets.

The director general of planning and follow-up at the Ministry of Antiquities, in special statements to the "seventh day", that the walls are being restored with the same materials, consisting of archive stone falling from houses, as Shali and all the effects of the city of Siwa archive stones, a salt stones mixed with mud.

Abdul Hamid Al-Kafafi added that the city is being restored to its original status as before, and show the architectural and planning character of houses and the city as a whole, as the old streets have been opened, pointing out that the city of Shali is scheduled to open next year 2020.
