The Minister of Culture launches the "Cinema Between Your Hands" project in all governorates

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, announced the launch of a new creative project in all governorates of Egypt titled “Cinema between Your Hands” as part of the “Start Your Dream” initiative, which is implemented by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces headed by artist Hisham Atwa, and supervised by artist Tamer Abdel Moneim. Al-Thaqafa has decided to reprint the Black and White magazine specialized in the seventh art, and to establish a web channel and a specialized website that includes the history of Egyptian cinema and all previous issues of Black and White magazine and Afaq Cinema Group.


Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem said that the art of cinema is a brilliant way to spread awareness and enlightenment and an effective tool for building a strong and cohesive society. She added that Egypt is one of the leading countries in the field of the seventh art, which represents one of the important axes of development, with its effective tools dealing with social issues, and she added that cinema is among EDIC is one of the projects that works on providing the opportunity for talented people to acquire skills in this field and express themselves, in addition to strengthening the national identity, highlighting the uniqueness of the Egyptian civilization. It includes specialized film camps in the tourist governorates, in which outstanding graduates of free studies at the Cinema Palace participate, and aims to produce short promotional films Tourist areas in Egypt In addition to spreading cinematic culture through courses and workshops in all governorates.

For his part, director Hisham Atwa said that the project is being carried out in cooperation with professors from the Higher Institute of Cinema and senior specialists in the field of cinema, including Dr. Ashraf Mohamed, Kamal Abdel Aziz, director of photography, embarrassing Ashraf Fayek, director Fakhr El-Din Najila, Dr. Khaled Bahgat, Dr. Marwa Azab, Dr. Mokhtar Younis, Dr. Mohamed Azab, musician Khaled Hammad, critic Tariq El-Shennawy and others.

Tamer Abdel Moneim, the project supervisor, said that the camps are held on a quarterly basis and start in Fayoum in mid-August, in addition to organizing monthly study courses in all governorates of Egypt and free intensive workshops for families. Alexandria was chosen to be the first governorate, where studies will begin at Anfoushi Culture Palace on the tenth of August for two weeks.
