On September 24, China launched the International Tourism and Culture Expo 2020 in the city of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, south China, with the participation of 65 countries.

A large pavilion has been allocated to Egypt to display the country's cultural and civilizational products and tourism programs.

Egyptian Cultural Advisor in China Omaima Ghanem Zeidan said that the Egyptian pavilion was designed in the Pharaonic style, where the walls were decorated with hieroglyphs and famous drawings, with the flag of Egypt in the middle, and the logos of the Cultural Office in China and EgyptAir (the national carrier). Statues, pictures and dishes bearing Pharaonic inscriptions are displayed throughout the pavilion.

She added that the office took advantage of this important international event to promote the "Study in Egypt" initiative, launched by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to attract foreign and restore Egypt's pioneering role in this field, where an explanatory video was prepared to introduce the initiative and ways to benefit from it.

Also, Zeidan noted that EgyptAir (the national carrier) participates in the Egyptian pavilion, presenting offers and tourism and promotional programs, especially since the Chinese people are very passionate about the Egyptian civilization, culture and tourist areas.

This year's expo, organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade annually since 2014, runs until Saturday. It is held on an area of 100,000 square meters.

The expo is one of the first international exhibitions of this size to be held since the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic.
