On May 6, the Central Department for Scientific Affairs, Graphics and Training of the Supreme Council of Antiquities will present a new lecture entitled "Virtual Museums" set to be broadcast live on Facebook.

Randa Rophael, director general of the Department, said that the lecture is given by Mohamed Ismail, deputy director of the Heritage Documentation Center in Alexandria Library. She noted that some people may resort to virtual museum visits instead of realistic visits to the museum, especially in the circumstances the world is going through to prevent the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

The lecture informs the public about the nature of virtual museum visits, their types, and the digital techniques used in them. Local and international examples of these museums will be presented.

This lecture comes within a series of lectures organized by the Supreme Council of Antiquities in many archaeological museums broadcast live on Facebook, as part of the preventive measures taken by the ministry to battle the novel coronavirus.
