The sterilisation continues: Egyptian Min. of Tourism, Antiquities resume extensive sterilization works

In the morning of March 30, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Anani inspected the sterilization and disinfection works taking place at a hotel in Giza.

Anani further inspected the work of clearing and sterilizing the area surrounding the Sphinx of the Great Pyramids of Giza. This is a continuation of the application of measures to prevent and protect from the emerging coronavirus.

The Minister inspected the preventive measures that the hotel has followed since entering the lobby, the restaurant area, pergolas and swimming pools, in addition to the internal corridors of hotels and guest rooms.


Moreover, Anani inspected the kitchens’ disinfection and sterilization process, where the minister heard from the hotel's doctor -who specializes in microbiology- to a detailed explanation of all the preventive measures used.

The doctor further emphasized that the sterilization procedures are carried out according to the standards approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and according to the materials approved by the Ministry of Health and Population in Egypt.

The hotel’s doctor also affirmed that the sterilization and disinfection works are continuously carried out.

Furthermore, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Anani then headed to the Giza Archeological Area to resume the sterilization and disinfection work in the area, where the area surrounding the Sphinx and Khafre Pyramid are being sterilized.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is carrying out extensive disinfection and sterilization works covering all museums and archaeological sites in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

That is in addition to sterilization and disinfection of a number of hotels in Hurghada, Makadi Bay, El Gouna, South Sinai, Luxor and other tourist cities, in cooperation with the Hotel Facilities Chamber.
