The head of the Egyptian Opera, Magdy Saber, inspected it's theaters in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhur to continue performing the necessary maintenance work for all theaters, taking advantage of the interruption of concerts and artistic activities.
All the activities of the opera house came to a halt after the decision of the Prime Minister to prevent gatherings and events to counter the spread of the Coronavirus.
In statements made to the press, Saber stated that he inspected the opera’s theaters in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhur in implementation of the instructions of the minister of culture Inas Abdel Dayem, to invest the downtime in activities in maintenance, development and raising the efficiency of cultural sites and buildings, in addition to the clothes and decoration workshops, and sound and lighting equipment stores.
During his inspection to the various theaters and locations affiliated to the Egyptian Opera, Saber was accompanied by engineering, safety and occupational health officials.
The head of the Egyptian Opera stressed that the necessary maintenance work is done for all theaters so that they are ready to receive the public as soon as the activities resume, noting that the minor negative effects, which were caused by bad weather during the last period, were addressed.
