A conference to announce the inauguration of Cairo as the capital of Islamic culture

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, will hold a press conference to announce the details of the program for the inauguration of Cairo, the capital of Islamic culture, which will continue throughout 2020, on Monday, February 3, in the Main Hall, at five o'clock in the evening, within the activities of the Cairo International Book Fair in its session 51, whose activities kicked off on January 22, under the title "Egypt Africa - Culture of Diversity" and taken by the late Jamal Hamdan as her personal and Senegal guest of honor.

The conference was attended by Dr. Abdul Ilah Bin Arafa, cultural advisor to the Director General of the Islamic World Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO), Naguib Al-Ghayati, Director of Culture at ISESCO, and Dr. Osama Al-Nahhas, a program specialist at the Organization's Culture Directorate.

The Islamic World Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO) chose Cairo, the capital of Islamic culture 2020, to assume the title as the successor to the Tunisian capital, which it enjoyed during the past year.

It is worth noting that Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, the Minister of Culture, held an expanded meeting with the heads of the authorities and sectors to discuss the final arrangements for the inauguration program of the activities of Cairo, the capital of Islamic culture, during the year 2020, on January 29.

It is noteworthy that the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) adopted the Capital of Islamic Culture program that came in line with the program launched by the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALESCO), concerning choosing the capital of Arab culture and decided to assign it annually to three ancient Islamic cities representing Islamic regions in each of the world Al-Arabi, Africa and Asia, in addition to the capital hosting the Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers, which meets every two years.
