Egypt, UAE leaders endorse President Trump's initiative to end war in Gaza

CAIRO – 29 September 2025: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Monday, his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who arrived in Egypt within the framework of a fraternal visit.

According to a statement by the Egyptian Presidency, the two leaders held an extended session of talks at Al-Ittihadiya Palace attended by the two countries’ delegations.

It was followed by a closed bilateral meeting between the two leaders. Later, a working luncheon was held in honor of Egypt's esteemed guest and his accompanying delegation.

President Sisi commenced the meeting by reiterating the depth and strength of the bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE.

The President commended the remarkable progress in their cooperation across various sectors, primarily in the spheres of trade and investment. President Sisi confirmed Egypt’s commitment to removing all impediments encountering Emirati investments, while valuing the significant growth witnessed in the economic relations between the two countries.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed lauded the considerable development in Egypt's investment climate, which he noted reflects the concerted efforts made to enhance the business environment and attract investments.

The talks also focused on regional developments, primarily the situation in the Gaza Strip.

President Sisi and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed the peace initiative advanced by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

They emphasized the crucial need to support this initiative, paving the way for a path toward realizing permanent and comprehensive peace in the region.
