CAIRO – 17 September 2025: Egypt on Wednesday welcomed the findings of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry, which deduced that Israeli occupation forces have committed genocide against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The report documents grave violations and crimes carried out by Israeli forces over nearly two years, including systematic policies of killing, starvation and siege that rendered living conditions in Gaza impossible, in pursuit of displacement and deliberate destruction of Palestinians in the enclave.
It also exposes the falsehood of Israel’s claims of respecting its international legal obligations while committing atrocities against defenseless civilians.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to act urgently to end the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, ensure accountability, and enforce relevant international resolutions.
It reiterated Egypt’s call for an immediate end to the war in Gaza, paving the way for the restoration of the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
