CAIRO - 16 October 2019: Under the title "Recruitment in Border Governorates", the first forum to provide job opportunities for youth in Sinai will be held on Wednesday in El-Arish, North Sinai.
The forum is organized by the Directorate of Youth and Sports in cooperation with the Directorate of Manpower and is held under the auspices of Major General Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha, governor of North Sinai.
Earlier September, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has issued decree no. 83 of 2019 approving a loan agreement to establish four sea water desalination stations in South Sinai between the Egyptian government and the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development.
The 15-million-dinar agreement was signed in Sharm el Sheikh on December 8, 2018.
In July 2018, Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr reiterated President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi's keenness on developing Sinai.
Nasr, speaking to parliamentary reporters following her meeting with a World Bank mission, said the government seeks to offer soft loans and provide an appropriate atmosphere to set up development projects in Sinai.
Nasr added the meeting aims at reviewing the lawmakers' vision on Sinai development and projects needed by Sinai residents. "The WB mission will work to provide necessary financial resources, mostly in the form of grants, to develop Sinai,"Minister Nasr added.
