Egyptian Foreign Min. to take part in Res Sea ministerial meeting

CAIRO - 12 December 2018: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry headed to Saudi Arabia Tuesday to take part in the ministerial meeting for the Arab and African Red Sea states in Riyadh, according to a statement issued by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Hafez. The statement added that the meeting will focus on ways to activate joint cooperation in all fieldsand boost coordination among the countries which overlook the important waterway. The statement also reported that the Red Sea is one of the most important routes of global trade between the East and West. Shoukry's participation reflects Egypt's keenness on boosting cooperation among Red Sea countries, Hafez added. The first meeting was held in Cairo on December 11-12, 2017, where the main principles for cooperation among Red Sea countries were agreed upon.
