CAIRO - 4 December 2018: Governor of South Sinai, Khaled Fouda, formed a committee Tuesday with the explicit goal of doing research concerning the development of Naama Bay in Sharm el-Shiekh. The bay, which lies within the Red Sea resort, is expected to see the development of a three-kilometer walk, a bicycle track, which comes as part of Egypt's going green strategy, parking lots, parks, artificial lakes, landscapes and murals. The development of the bay is expected to increase the influx of tourists to the area. Estimated to cost some LE 150 million, the governor is aiming to have the project completed by November 2019, before the third edition of the World Youth Forum. During the next few days, the governor will hold another meeting with the committee to further study the issue; afterwards, the study will be referred to ministries concerned for ratification.
