Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty took part on Friday in a meeting of the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus, alongside Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nader Zaki said Abdelatty highlighted the special ties between the three countries and the growing momentum behind their trilateral cooperation mechanism, which he described as a model for regional cooperation and integration.
Abdelatty stressed the importance of holding regular meetings at various levels and following up on the implementation of outcomes from trilateral summits, as well as agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the three countries.

The trilateral mechanism was described as a model for regional cooperation and integration, with a focus on projects that deliver tangible benefits for the three countries and their peoples.
The ministers agreed on the importance of expanding trilateral projects that can strengthen connections among their peoples and deliver tangible benefits.

They also discussed developing training programs for technical workers and facilitating the necessary legal arrangements, with the aim of supporting regulated migration pathways. The ministers also reaffirmed the importance of continued cooperation in the military, defense and economic fields.
The ministers exchanged views on regional developments, including the Palestinian issue, the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and other regional crises.
They stressed the importance of de-escalation, prioritizing political solutions, and respecting the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of states.
The three ministers agreed to maintain close consultations and coordination through the trilateral mechanism and expand cooperation in areas of common interest, with the aim of advancing the interests of the three countries and their peoples while contributing to security, stability and prosperity in the Eastern Mediterranean.
