CAIRO – 10 March 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty highlighted the pivotal role played by national media institutions in raising public awareness of the unprecedented external challenges facing Egypt.
The minister's remarks were made during his visit to the Egyptian Radio and Television Union's building in Maspero on Monday.
During his visit, Abdelatty met with Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation Khaled Abdel Aziz and Chairman of the National Media Authority Ahmed el-Maslamani.
Abdelatty lauded the impressive progress made by national media institutions and their contribution to developing the national sense, establishing the principles of loyalty and national belonging, and shaping the political culture of citizens, taking into account the successive regional developments.
As for the issue of training and capacity-building in the field of diplomacy and media, Abdelatty underlined the pivotal role played by media outlets in diplomatic work.
He stressed the importance of employing these mechanisms to support and convey national messages that serve the nation’s interests.
The two sides also reviewed the joint cooperation and training programs between the Foreign Ministry and national media institutions.
The talks also touched upon training courses organized in cooperation with media professionals from different countries.
