Egypt's Immigration Min. to establish unit helping Egyptian investors abroad

Egypt's Ministry of State for Immigration and Expatriate Affairs will establish a unit for Egyptian investors abroad that will be responsible for facilitating the issuance of licenses for their projects.

CAIRO - 8 January 2020: Egypt's Ministry of State for Immigration and Expatriate Affairs will establish a unit for Egyptian investors abroad that will be responsible for facilitating the issuance of licenses for their projects.

This was announced during Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram’s meeting with Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, head of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones on Monday.

The two sides also discussed cooperation between the Ministry of Immigration and the authority to provide all the needed services to Egyptian investors abroad.

The minister indicated that the meeting comes within the framework of implementing the recommendations and results of the discussions that took place during the "Egypt can Invest and Develop" conference.

Makram pointed out that cooperation with the General Investment Authority is necessary and inevitable, as Egypt has achieved a clear leap in recent years, which requires attracting more investments and providing more investment opportunities in various fields

The minister also extended an invitation to successful investors abroad to transfer their experiences to the Egyptian officials and businessmen, and get acquainted with Egypt's investment map.

For his part, Abdel Wahab added that the Egyptian Investors Unit will offer investment opportunities to Egyptian investors abroad and issue the necessary licenses for their projects.

The head of the commission also stated that the unit will participate in all activities that the Ministry of Immigration will organize for Egyptians abroad, including the second conference of Egyptian entities abroad, set to be held soon, as well as receiving complaints from investors.
