CAIRO - 6 September 2020: Egypt's Planning Minister Hala el-Saaed said that the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for the non-oil private sector inched up in August for the second month in a row.

A report, issued by the Planning and Economic Development Ministry on the PMI results during August 2020, showed that the PMI rose by 20 points from its lowest level in April during the peak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The minister noted that Egyptian non-oil-producing companies witnessed a increase in both production and new orders during the month of August, benefiting from the initial economic recovery recorded in July
