Egyptian Foreign Minister Conducts Multiple Meetings in Slovenia

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a series of meetings - during his current visit to Ljubljana - with Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar, Slovenian Prime Minsiter Robert Golob, and Slovenian Minister of the Economy, Tourism and Sports Matjaž Han.



During his meetings with the Slovenian ministers, Shoukry referred to long-standing ties binding Egypt and Slovenia, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.



Shoukry also emphasized the importance of enhancing joint cooperation and coordination regarding regional and international issues, added the spokesman.



The spokesman said that the talks with the senior Slovenian officials tackled ways of increasing investments between the two countries and implementing joint projects in the various industrial and agricultural spheres.



Shoukry underlined the need to promote tourism cooperation, stressing Egypt's utmost keenness on boosting the flow of Slovenian tourists to its different attractions.



Egypt also appreciates Slovenia's support for the Palestinian cause, the spokesman quoted the foreign minister as saying.



For her part, the Slovenian president stressed the need to enhance bilateral cooperation to be up to the level of political relations between the two countries.



She further referred to Egypt's crucial role to ensure entrenching stability in the region, especially in light of the current crisis in the war-torn Gaza Strip.



Meanwhile, the Slovenian prime minister greatly appreciated Egypt's central role in the region, affirming that the two countries share an identical viewpoint calling for an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave.



He further affirmed that the only way to attain peace is the implementation of the two-state solution.



Regarding Shoukry's meeting with the Slovenian minister of the economy, the two sides discussed ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation and increasing inter-investments with the aim of promoting the volume of trade exchange in the various spheres, including agriculture, energy, and artificial intelligence
