CAIRO – 28 May 2025: Egypt condemned on Tuesday the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir along with a large number of extremist settlers.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry released a statement on Tuesday warning of the consequences of such provocative actions that offend the beliefs and sentiments of hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world.
Egypt raised alarm over repercussions of these reckless actions and their impact on the region's security and stability.
The international community should confront these serious Israeli violations and support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish an independent state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem (Al Quds) as its capital, the statement read.
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday, along with his wife, and multiple members of the Knesset, marking the anniversary of the Israeli occupation of East Jerusalem.
