CAIRO –30 March 2025: Several phone calls took place between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and other leaders in the Middle East, greeting each other on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr (the Feast of Breaking the Fast) due to start on Sunday in several islamic countries.
President Sisi exchanged greetings with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Jordanian King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The leaders also conveying their sincere wishes for continued stability and progress for their countries.
The Egyptian Dar al-Iftaa (the House of issuing Fatwas) announced that the sighting of the crescent moon of Shawwal determines that Monday, March 31, 2025, will be the first day of Shawwal.
This means that Cairo will celebrate Eid al-Ftir on March 31.
On March 24, 2025, Egypt’s Cabinet declared a four-day paid holiday for both public servants and the private sector to mark Eid al Fitr.
