Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Monday that any future political process in Sudan should include all effective national parties.
The process-to-be should be based on the principle of respecting the sovereignty, unity and safety of Sudan, Shoukry said in a meeting with Tom Perriello, the US special envoy to Sudan, who is currently visiting Cairo.
The top diplomat also spoke against interference in the domestic affairs of Sudan, pressing for action to preserve state institutions there, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
Shoukry posted Perriello on Egypt’s diplomatic efforts with global and regional powers, as well as international organizations, to prevent any escalation in Sudan and reach a sustainable ceasefire agreement, the spokesman added.
