Egypt’s Sisi inaugurates housing, road projects in Greater Cairo Wed, Mar. 2, 2022
CAIRO – 2 March 2022: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated on Wednesday a number of national projects in the housing and roads sectors via video in Greater Cairo.

The projects inaugurated by the president via video from the Sixth of October City included housing projects in new cities in Giza to secure thousands of housing units.

Projects also include a health club in the Sixth of October city as well as a number of roads and bridges.

During the inauguration ceremony, Housing Minister Assem El-Gazzar said Egypt's investments in new cities around Cairo amounted to EGP 400 million, including EGP 220 million to upgrade fourth-generation cities.

Transport Minister Kamel El-Wazir also said that the Egyptian state has spent EGP 550 billion to ease traffic in Greater Cairo.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said during the ceremony that Egypt has established national road projects through the past seven years in a record time and beyond dreams in Cairo.

He added that the state constructs road projects that are usable for 50-100 years to come.
