CAIRO – 2 February 2022: Egypt's Ministry of Health announced the issuance of the seventh version of the Corona treatment protocol and its distribution to isolation hospitals across the Republic to start treatment with new medicines, provided that the drug is dispensed free of charge for all cases.
Hossam Hosni, head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona, said that the treatment protocol for Corona was updated, in which the drug “molnopiravir” was introduced, and the use of “monoclonal” and “mirage” drugs was expanded, stressing that the new drugs have powerful effect in the treatment and recovery of disease.

Hossam Hosny added that the total imported vaccines for "AstraZeneca", "Sinovac", "Sinopharma", "Johnson & Johnson", "Sputnik", "Pfizer Piontech" and "Moderna" amounted to 136 million, 24 thousand and 630 doses.
He said that the drug "Paxlovid", produced by the "Pfizer" company, obtained emergency use approval from the US Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Authority, as Egypt signed a contract with the producing company to obtain sufficient doses to treat 20,000 people in the coming weeks.
With regard to the drug “Evusheld”, Dr. Hossam Hosni, indicated that it is produced by AstraZeneca, and Egypt has contracted to supply doses of it that are sufficient to treat 50,000 people, and it is expected to arrive within the next two days.
