CAIRO – 6 September 2021: Egypt's Sisi directs the government to upgrade the state-owned research institutes and centers to keep abreast of technological development and the requirements of major national megaprojects in the agriculture field.

President’s directives were given during a meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, a number of concerned ministers and officials, according to a statement from the Presidency on Monday.

Upgrading and developing the research institutions aim at enhancing the agricultural manufacturing to ensure continuous improvement of plant and animal production, the statement added.

The president also directed to adopt scientific trends of artificial intelligence and digital transformation throughout intensifying coordination between the two ministries of Higher Education and Agriculture, especially in fields of veterinary vaccines and strategic crops.
