CAIRO – 28 October 2020: The volume of Egyptian-Ukrainian trade exchange reached $2.6 billion during 2019, according to the Ministry of International Cooperation.



The ministry stated, in a statement, Wednesday, that Egypt will remain the largest trading partner of Ukraine in Africa and the Middle East.



“The most important areas of cooperation between the two countries are in the sectors of communications, construction, finance, services, tourism, industry and agriculture,” it stated.



Meanwhile, Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat met with a high-level Ukrainian delegation headed by "Ihor Zhovkva", Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Presidency Office for International Relations, to discuss arrangements for the joint Egyptian-Ukrainian committee.



The joint Egyptian-Ukrainian committee seeks to create the necessary legal framework for the advancement of bilateral cooperation relations between Egypt and Ukraine, as well as to take decisions to facilitate trade exchange and strengthen relations between the private sectors of the two countries, and to create an appropriate environment for businessmen to contribute to the completion of development plans in them, and increase inter-investment.



The committee also aims to cooperate in areas of common interest, including trade, industry, health and medicine, agriculture, energy, tourism, and other areas that serve the common interests of the two countries.
