The Supreme Council of Culture, chaired by Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, will hold its sixty-ninth meeting to vote and announce the names of the winners of the state awards: Nile, Appreciation, Excellence and Encouragement, at twelve noon today, Tuesday, May 30, in the hall of the Supreme Council of Culture.
This comes in the presence of the members of the Council who are entitled to vote to choose the winners of the state awards in the three main fields: arts, literature and social sciences based on the names that were nominated by the examination committees that worked over the past months, in addition to approving the nominations for the state encouragement awards, which were approved by them. Its inspection committees in the announced branches.
The short list of candidates for state awards in its various branches included the following names:
Nile Award
Nominated in the literature branch, each of: the late great translator d. Muhammad Anani, and the great poet Muhammad Ibrahim Abu Sunna.
In the arts branch, the great artist Yahya Al-Fakharani and the great plastic artist Abdel Salam Eid were nominated.
And candidates for the social sciences branch were: Dr. Ali El-Din Helal, Dr. Muhammad Saber Arab.
And nominated in the Arab Creators branch, each of: the artist Dia Azzawi (Iraq), Da Abdullah Al-Ghadami (Saudi Arabia)
State Appreciation Award
In literature, the late Dr. Abd al-Rahim al-Kurdi, the novelist Hala al-Badri, Dr. Saber Abdel Dayem, Dr. Ahmed Youssef, the poet Hussein al-Qabbahi, and Dr. Ahmed Taymur were nominated, provided that three of the candidates win the award.
And nominated in the arts, each of: Dr. Ashraf Zaki, Dr. Dalila El-Kardani, Dr. Magdy El-Bayly, Dr. Noha Barrada, musician Hany Shenouda, d. Hana Dahi, provided that three of the candidates win the award.
In social sciences, Dr. Ismail Gomaa, Dr. El-Sayed Fleifel, Dr. Al-Gharib Zaher, Dr. Hossam Lotfy, Dr. Hassan Al-Saadi, Dr. Salah Salem, Dr. Adel Abdullah, Counselor Abdel Majeed Mahmoud were nominated, provided that four of the candidates win the award.
State Award for Excellence
The literature branch nominates: the storyteller and novelist Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, the poet and critic Fathi Abdel-Samie, the novelist Mohamed Ibrahim Taha, the late Dr. Mustafa Selim, and two candidates will receive the award.
Nominated in Arts, each of: Director Ahmed Ismail, d. Rania Yehia, scriptwriter Amr Samir Atef, artist Fathi Afifi, with two candidates receiving the award.
In the State Award for Excellence in the Social Sciences Branch, Dr. Ahmed Ragab, Dr. El-Sayed Suleiman, Dr. Hassan Salama, Dr. Khalaf Al-Miri, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mansi, and Dr. Hana Al-Gohary were nominated, provided that three of the candidates win.
