Today, the 21st anniversary of the opening of the Library of Alexandria passes, and the official ceremony was postponed until October 16, 2022. The library was built again in a location close to the old library in the Shatby area of ​​the city, and from here we review the details of the library from the inside and the museums it offers...
Inside the Library of Alexandria
Audio-visual library: The multimedia library includes different types of audio-visual aids. The audio-visual materials cover a variety of topics: educational, religious, cultural, political, recording, cinematic, in addition to self-teaching methods for different languages, computer programs and other means for self-education in various fields, in addition to recordings of all conferences, concerts, art and exhibitions that take place in Alexandria Library.

Library for the Blind (Taha Hussein Library): The Taha Hussein Library represents a new concept that opens new horizons for the blind and visually impaired, and enables them to access the resources of the Library of Alexandria as well as Internet resources. The main objectives of this library are to promote national and international cooperation and encourage research and development in this field, which can The blind and visually impaired have access to information, thus trying to introduce them to a new age of knowledge and information technology. The library aims to create a new generation of blind and visually impaired people so that they can face the new electronic age and become able to keep up with information technology.
Children's Library: It is a library dedicated to children between the ages of 6-12 years. It aims to encourage children to read and research methods. It also aims to prepare children to use the main library in the future with all its services and capabilities.

Youth Library: It is a specialized library for young people between the ages of 12-16 years.
Microfilm Library: The microfilm reading hall provides researchers with the opportunity to view a number of manuscripts and various documents, in addition to the Egyptian daily newspapers since the date of their issuance, in addition to a group of special books available in the form of microfilms.
Map Library: The library includes more than seven thousand maps covering all parts of the world, with a special focus on Alexandria, Egypt, the Arab countries, and the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. The library includes different types of maps such as city singularization, world maps, topographical maps, geological maps, contour maps, road and transportation maps, thematic maps, marine and aerial navigation maps, and aerial and satellite images. The library also includes more than 500 atlases and a number of globes.

Alexandria Library Museums
It includes an envelope printing machine, which is one of the machines that were developed at the Bulaq Press during the reign of Khedive Ismail. It is now in the Library of Alexandria

As for the Antiquities Museum inside a library, the museum’s collection includes different eras of Egyptian civilization, starting from the Pharaonic era until the Islamic era, passing through the Greek civilization that came to Egypt with Alexander’s invasion. The Museum of Antiquities of the Library of Alexandria is the first of the largest, which was followed by the Roman civilization and then the Coptic before the entry of Islam to Egypt. The collection contains about 1,079 pieces.

Manuscript Museum
Since the Manuscript Museum is one of the academic centers attached to the Library of Alexandria. This museum was established by Republican Decree No. (269) of 2002. Many manuscripts were brought from the Alexandria Municipal Library.
