Today, Saturday, the Supreme Administrative Committee of the Cairo International Book Fair met in its 54th session, which is scheduled to start on January 24, to determine the date for the lottery for the publishers participating in the current session.
The committee agreed that the lottery will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, January 4, at Al-Manara Center in Hall 219, to distribute publishers in the exhibition that will be held at the International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement.
The 54th session is witnessing an increase in the number of participating publishing houses this year, due to the Authority’s approval of the participation of all publishing houses that applied to participate in the exhibition, in addition to allocating a pavilion in the exhibition for small publishing houses that do not have publications suitable for participation in the Book Fair 2023, as an affirmation of supporting the book industry. Publishing.
In the current session, there was no waiting list that held a large number of publishing houses, especially new ones, to participate in the exhibition, as it was approved for the participation of all publishing houses that applied, in addition to granting a power of attorney to publishing houses for which a pavilion of 18 square meters was allocated, and this was not available from Before, to encourage the largest number of publishers to participate, provided that he is a member of the Egyptian Publishers Union.
The Cairo International Book Fair is a cultural event awaited by a large number of readers, in order to acquire new books and watch the artistic performances that are presented through a comprehensive cultural and artistic program. Until February 6, 2023.
