The Egyptian Minister of Culture witnesses the launch of the fifth edition of the Cultural Summit in Abu Dhabi

Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, witnessed the launching of the fifth cultural summit in Abu Dhabi, this Sunday morning, which was held in Manarat Al Saadiyat, in the presence of Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, and a group of senior leaders of cultural work at the level of The world, where the Minister of Culture witnessed the proceedings of the opening session of the summit, in which Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak spoke.

Today, the first event of the Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit, in its fifth session, for the year 2022, which is scheduled to continue from 23 to 25 October, which will be held in Manarat Al Saadiyat in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, will be launched this year under the slogan "Save History".

The first event of the Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit 2022 discussed the repercussions of the Corona pandemic “Covid-19” on the culture and arts sectors in the world, as the fifth edition of the summit aims to explore weaknesses in the post-pandemic culture sector to enhance its capacity in preparation for the future.

Today's activities also witnessed an inaugural panel discussion on "The Role of Culture in Building Resilient and Shared Societies", moderated by Dr. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh. During this panel discussion, speakers Dalia Grybauskaite, Ivo Josipovic and Joyce Banda discussed lessons learned from the Corona crisis.

Noura bint Muhammad Al-Akaabi, Minister of Culture of the United Arab Emirates, said in her account on the Twitter platform: “In today’s session, we discussed the increasing importance of the cultural and creative industries sector and the priority we give in the UAE to support and develop these sectors to achieve sustainable development.”

The Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit 2022, announced in mid-May, the postponement of this session, which was scheduled to be held from May 16 to 18, in mourning for Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan; The second president of the United Arab Emirates, and the sixteenth ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which is the largest of the seven emirates that make up the federation, who passed away on May 13, 2022.
