Deputy of Egypt's Min. of Tourism participates in the Alexandria International Conference on Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases

Ghada Shalaby, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs, participated in the 37th session of the Alexandria International Conference on Otolaryngology, organized by Alexandria University.

A number of international experts from ear, nose and throat doctors from different countries of the world participated in the conference, as well as representatives of Egyptian universities.

The Deputy Minister welcomed the participants in the conference and congratulated its organizers for resuming its convening, after a two-year hiatus, due to the conditions of the Corona virus pandemic, and made a presentation during which she spoke about the importance of the tourism industry, which represents an essential pillar of the Egyptian national income, referring to the diverse and unique components that the destination enjoys. The Egyptian tourist, which makes it one of the important tourist destinations.

She stressed that this conference reflects Egypt's ability to organize and host important international conferences, pointing to many important international conferences held in Egypt, including the Youth Conference, which is one of the most important international conferences that Egypt organizes annually. She also indicated that Egypt will organize and host the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP27) at the end of this year.

She reviewed the efforts made by the Egyptian state to confront the repercussions of the Corona virus, especially in light of Egypt's resumption of the incoming tourism movement since July 2020, noting that the Egyptian tourism experience was praised by international institutions and the international media, and she noted the positive impressions and opinions of a number of European Union ambassadors in Egypt about Egypt's success. In managing the Corona pandemic crisis, expressing their feeling of safety during their stay in it, and inviting them to the citizens of their countries to visit Egypt.

The Deputy Minister confirmed that restoring the confidence of the tourist was achieved as a result of the strict application of preventive and precautionary measures in all tourist and hotel establishments, museums, archaeological sites, airports and various tourist activities, noting that the ministry is still resolutely following up on the continued application of these measures, and referred to the hotline launched by the ministry, which works Around the clock to receive complaints, inquiries and suggestions from tourists.

She touched on the ministry's efforts to promote and enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian destination, including the use of modern technology and social networking sites, in addition to implementing joint campaigns with major tour operators, in addition to inviting bloggers and influencers from different countries of the world who enjoy a high rate of follow-up on social media to visit Egypt to convey their experience. Tourists to their followers through their personal pages on social networking sites.

She added that the ministry is keen to diversify the tourism product by promoting new tourism patterns such as rural tourism, which takes place in light of the presidential initiative, a decent life, in addition to developing the path of the Holy Family in Egypt, as well as facilitating the procedures for obtaining a tourist visa to enter Egypt.

She also referred to the archaeological discoveries and important events that managed to attract the world's attention, such as the procession of royal mummies, the transfer of the first Khufu boat, and the opening of the rams' road, pointing out that these events reflected not only the greatness of the Egyptian civilization, but also Egypt's ability to organize such events.
